This online session will explore the potential of curriculum design to transform our children’s experiences of science enabling them to develop scientific knowledge and understanding over time. We will reflect upon curriculum content choices, sequencing and how to make meaningful links to the wider curriculum.
Children’s scientific knowledge plays a vital role in understanding the world: how it works, its features and processes. Throughout their primary years, the science curriculum must deliver carefully chosen, well-sequenced content to support schema building and develop foundational understanding for future learning. This session will offer insight into primary science curriculum design, explanations of curriculum decisions and practical advice for teachers and school leaders.

- How does curriculum design support children to learn and remember more over time?
