The Importance of Explicit Vocabulary Instruction (On Demand)

This online CPD session is designed for teachers, curriculum leaders and senior leaders who recognise the importance of vocabulary and are looking for ways to close the word gap in their own school.

A child’s vocabulary is an indicator for later success both at school and in life. Therefore, developing our children’s vocabulary should be a key priority for all schools. In this session, we will look in depth at research as well as practical strategies that we can use in the classroom to build vocabulary and close the word gap.  We will explore how you can achieve a vocabulary-rich environment in your setting so that children can ‘wallow in words and their uses’ and apply their growing vocabularies.
