This online CPD session will look at how we can promote positive outcomes for all children, including those with SEND, and disadvantaged pupils. With a focus on how children learn, we will look at how we can help children overcome barriers to learning through high quality teaching, scaffolding and effective adaptations. The session is packed full of examples of strategies used in PKC classrooms across the country to scaffold learning and ensure all children can access high quality curriculum content.

We will consider questions such as:

  • What are barriers to learning?
  • What can we do to ensure success for all pupils?
  • What is the difference between differentiation and adaptation and why does it matter?
  • How can a consistent lesson structure support all children?
  • How can we support children to retrieve, remember and reconnect to prior learning?
  • What is the word gap and what can we do to address it?
  • How can we scaffold learning to support children with particular needs?

This live session will be recorded and will be available for all participants. Live attendance is recommended in order to ask questions and network.
