Applying Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction in Geography (ON DEMAND)

Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction offer research-based principles of effective instruction and suggestions for classroom practice which gives us a deeper understanding of the art of teaching. In this session we will look at what this principles look like in action in primary geography; how we can reconnect to prior learning, break learning down into manageable chunks, harness the power of questioning and what our independent tasks require our children to do.   

We will explore questions such as:  

• How can we support children to reconnect to prior learning in geography?  
• How can we structure or geography lessons to ensure learning is broken down into manageable chunks?  
• How can we improve our questioning in geography?  
• What do our children do during independent tasks, and what are they thinking about? 

This online CPD session is designed for teachers, curriculum leaders and senior leaders who are interested in learning more about effective classroom practice in primary geography.
