About the Event

This online training session will delve into how a knowledge-rich early years curriculum can build firm foundations for future education.

Covering areas such as teaching vocabulary, weaving knowledge into play and practical ideas for planning a robust Reception curriculum, this session will help teachers and senior leaders reflect upon how knowledge in the Early Years can help children to flourish. We will have a particular focus on Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design, and will consider the role of knowledge in these specific areas of the curriculum in the Early Years.

Within the session, we will provide opportunities to network in small groups, to ask questions and to hear from staff who have participated in the early adoption of the new Early Learning Goals that will become statutory in September.

Delegates will receive pre-recorded training videos that they can access in their own time a week before the course starts. On the course date, delegates will join a 2hr Zoom session where we will cover the rest of the course content and provide opportunities for reflections and discussions between subject leaders and teachers from other schools. It is essential that delegates have completed the pre-recorded training before the course date. Delegates will have access to the sessions for a week after the course date to review what they have learned.
